Haywire is the genre-bending and imaginative band led by fiddler & vocalist Hayley Ryerson. Haywire is repertoire is performed as a quartet, drawing influence from artists such as Oliver Schroer, Jaron Freeman-Fox, and Camille. Full of intuitive melodies, flowing groove, and nuanced simplicity, Haywire offers familiar curves of Celtic and folk while intertwining evocations of diverse genres. The result is refreshingly unique roots music. Haywire allows us to know Ryerson’s musical impulses, which undeniably share a common muse with her life choices; the result is frenetic and frayed at times, while other times playful or soothing. The name Haywire is inspired from moments when Hayley meets the wire and wood of her fiddle. The music that emerges in such moments of connection take on meaningful significance amidst the joy, delight, bewilderment, pain and play of everyday being.
